A small schooling fish native to the slow-moving, soft-water streams of South America. It is one of the most well-known and popular aquarium fish thanks to its bright blue stripe running along the body and its red underside. Peaceful in nature, it is best kept in community aquariums in groups of at least 6–8 individuals.
